Paul Forestell

Paul helped launch Brookfield Annuity as the company’s first President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in assisting organizations in managing every aspect of their defined benefits plans, including de-risking strategies based on group annuity solutions. He is now Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Reinsurance Ltd. (“Brookfield Reinsurance”), which provides capital-based insurance solutions to insurance companies and their stakeholders. Brookfield Annuity is an operating subsidiary of Brookfield Reinsurance.

Paul also has close ties to his profession and his community. He has lectured on pension-related issues at the Schulich School of Business and been sought out by the media, including the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, the National Post, Business News Network and the CBC, to provide insight on pension matters. Paul was Vice Chair of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ Pension Plan Financial Reporting Committee (2002).
